A CITY SEEKING ITS BODIES

A VISUAL LIVE SOUND MOVEMENT BASED PERFORMANCE

Interdisciplinary dialogue

In an interdisciplinary dialogue choreographer/director Alexandra Waierstall, composer / pianist HAUSCHKA, alias Volker Bertelmann, visual artist Marianna Christofides and dancers, investigate the relationship between man and the environment, steady progress and the limits of civilizational growth, ecology and choreography, archaeology and future utopia, the visible and the invisible.

‚A CITY SEEKING ITS BODIES’ is looking for the embodiment of abandoned places, revealing the hidden, creating fractures, transformation and continuity. The piece creates a utopian space, like poetry, a symbiosis between humans and the environment. A minimal science fiction – the performance moves on a fine line between fiction and reality. The performers, operating like weaving oracles, move thoughts and feelings, leading the viewer into an alternate reality in a different and unpredictable future, which is immanent in our present.
