SUPPOSE IT’S SUMMER

film by Marianna Christofides and Alexandra Waierstall

With Dani Brown and Evangelia Randou

A filmic playpoem created by a choreographer and a visual artist, meditating on time and the world, inviting us to move with our senses into a state of drift as we experience body, matter and thought pass through each other.

A dance performance with two women in Germany opens up to footage shot in Japan during the pandemic in a tidal montage of swelling and emptying, rising and falling, receding and resurfacing. With the support of a haunting musical score, a fluid and fragmented narrative enters at times into a subtle dialogue with Sappho, Aristophanes, Virginia Woolf, Laurie Anderson and Anne Carson to reveal our tumbling relation to bruised geographies and violated spaces including the human body.
